COVID-19 Safety Measures

Connecticut COVID-19 Prevention

What We’re Doing to Help Keep You Safe *

Our community is our family—and family takes care of each other. So, when we sat down to put new safety measures in place, we went beyond the guidelines.

See below for the details of our current plan.

We’ve always been dedicated to the cleanliness of our studios and the health and safety of our community. Now we’re taking it to an even higher level.

Cleaning Protocols

We continue to follow stringent sanitation protocols for proper disinfection, operation, and maintenance, as well as adding additional procedures to achieve a new level of cleanliness.

Enhanced Procedures & Deep Cleans

  • Continuous scheduled disinfection of high-touch surfaces throughout the gym.
  • Equipment use adjusted to eliminate intra-class sharing.
  • Heightened deep-cleaning procedures with top-grade disinfectant before and after every class, including the floors.
  • Team members will be trained on cleaning protocols.
  • UPDATE 6/13/20: We ordered an Electrostatic Sprayer for the gym. This is different than the small misting sprayers we are now using for the floors. This beast-of-a-machine gets into every corner and hard to reach surface and will help to ensure germs or viruses in its path are killed.

Self-Cleaning Stations

  • Gym wipes that kill COVID-19, and on the EPA’s “List N” are readily available throughout each room.
  • Hand Sanitizer is readily available.

Team Member Safety

We are dedicated to the health and safety of our entire community, including our team members. Team members have their temperature checked prior to each shift, are required to complete a self-symptom assessment prior to each shift and must always wear masks.

Social Distancing

We are taking careful actions to facilitate social distancing. Look for extra signs and markers to guide you through each space and help us all practice social distancing. We may implement necessary access limitations to allow for social distancing.

Restrooms / Showers / Changing Rooms

  • Masks are required in all areas (unless showering)
  • Showers are disinfected frequently

Café

  • Space will be maintained throughout café area including ordering counter and café tables
  • Café tables will be maintained a safe distance from neighboring tables
  • Lounge tables and café chairs are not to be reconfigured
  • Touchless payments will be available and encouraged for all members
    • Members can utilize points and/or charge credit card on file for apparel
  • No sharing beverages
  • Café counter employee will wear mask and gloves
  • Wear a mask when ordering at the counter
  • Only take off your mask when consuming your beverage
  • No members will be permitted behind café counter

Equipment Spacing and Availability

  • Only (1) person to a bag in Kick-Fit
  • You must have your own boxing gloves; loaners will not be provided

Group Fitness Class Sizes

  • Group fitness class sizes and schedules have been adjusted to be consistent with governmental orders and guidelines and to allow for thorough cleaning between classes.
  • There is extra time between classes to allow for proper disinfecting, and to aid in social distancing practices.
  • Class sizes are maintained at reduced capacity when necessary to ensure social distancing
  • Members are not be permitted to take multiple classes in one-day to prevent mixing cohorts
  • As always, scheduling in-advance is required

Children

  • All kid’s programs will remain suspended for the time being. We do plan to resume these classes A.S.A.P.

Face Masks

Quote from the State provided guidelines:

“Customers are required to bring and wear masks or cloth face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth unless doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety…”

“Customers do not need to wear a mask while engaged in physical activity if 12 ft of distance can be maintained, but should as they enter and exit the facility and use the restrooms.”

  • We will not be able to keep 12 ft of distance, so masks are required as stated above, except in non-vigorous classes when 6 ft of distance can be maintained.
  • Always pay attention to how you feel while wearing a mask during exercise, and slow down or step outside if you feel you need to.

Entering And Exiting The Building

When You Arrive

  • Members may only enter the building 10 minutes before class starts.
  • Upon entering SIN Fitness, you will be greeted with the SIN CARE Policy and asked to perform a personal assessment, which will include the following questions:

  • Do you have any of the following symptoms?
    • Fever
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath
    • Has anyone in your family / household, or anyone you have encountered in the last 14 days, experienced the symptoms above or tested positive for COVID-19?
    • Have you travelled to any ‘hot spots’ within the last 14 days and have not taken a Covid test since your return?

If you answer yes to any of the above questions, we appreciate if you refrain from participating in a class.

If you answer no, you are good-to-go!

When You Leave

  • You will exit using the front entrance of the building in a singular fashion
    • Allow those entering the building space to safely enter and reach the reception area prior to exiting
  • Please only bring the items you need with you for class into the gym and leave with those items when you depart
  • Shelves will be sanitized daily and will need to be fully empty for proper disinfecting

Water and Towels

  • For the time being, we have suspended our free towel service. Please bring your own towel if you need one.
  • Water stations will be closed until further notice; however, you may use them to refill your bottle. Please bring your own full bottle of water.

* The health and safety of our members and guests is our highest priority. While our policies are designed to help protect you, SIN Fitness cannot remove all risk or otherwise guarantee or promise that you will not sustain any injuries or damages from viruses, communicable diseases, or other health hazards associated with your use of SIN Fitness' premises, facilities, equipment, services, activities or products (“Use of SIN Fitness' Premises and Services”), including exposure, transmission, infection, illness, sickness, disease or death with respect COVID-19 and the virus that causes it, SARS-CoV-2. Because our gym provides opportunities for vigorous higher-intensity exercise, you may experience or encounter more significant respiration than in other locations. To help protect our community, we encourage you to refrain from the use of SIN Fitness' premises and services if you have symptoms of COVID-19, maintain social/physical distance at all times from others with whom you do not share regular contact, and subject to individual health conditions use a barrier mask within our premises.
