Member of the Month for September is Sharmaine Abrams!!  Sharmaine has been SINning for almost a year now and exemplifies the definition of a SINner.  She brings great camaraderie to every class by encouraging others to finish strong.  Her confidence and strength has steadily improved since starting at SIN and especially as she is incorporating more Bootcamps into her schedule.  Sharmaine is conscious of form, works hard during the entire workout, and doesn’t back down from added challenges. How long have you been coming to SIN Fitness?

I tried my first class during Hell Week in December 2022 and still signed up right afterwards.  I was so impressed with the caliber of the workouts and how genuine the staff and members were with welcoming and supporting someone new.

Do you remember your first workout?

Kickboxing with Coach Pat.

How would you describe your lifestyle before SIN Fitness? How would you describe it now?

I was really active doing Brazilian jujitsu, kickboxing and HITT classes consistently and thought I was eating healthy-ish; however, I wasn’t lifting heavy weights. Since being at SIN, I realized that I had been living in a comfort zone for way too long. Now, I routinely workout early before going into the office (which I never…ever thought I would do), added bootcamps to the workout mix, and the fitness challenge really helped me to learn and understand the importance of nutrition, hydration, and rest which I’m so mindful of now. I honestly feel such a difference with making these positive changes and it has reduced my stress level.

If you could design your perfect workout what would it be?

Bootcamp strength style workout with barbell work on legs for the first half and kickboxing the second half that includes some tabatas. Most importantly, 90s hip-hop is playing in the background!

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of starting at SIN Fitness?

If you think back to a highlight in your life when you felt so proud about achieving a personal goal, that left you feeling confident…you will continuously experience that amazing feeling over and over at SIN.

This gym is a special place that will challenge who you think you are, and you will quickly realize you are mentally and physically stronger than you think. The experienced coaches not only craft challenging workouts and provide feedback on proper techniques, they push you by providing the motivation and inspiration to elevate you to your next level. The members are so supportive and there is a shared sense of teamwork and commitment.

Joining SIN has truly been the best investment in myself and I’m grateful that the staff and members work so hard to maintain a positive and enjoyable atmosphere, that keeps me walking out the door each day with that amazing feeling of accomplishment and confidence that I need.
