Member of the month for October is Christine Forbes. Christine has been coming to SIN for almost 5 years. Since she started with SIN she has welcomed 2 healthy children. She worked out consistently through both pregnancies and came back strong after each. Christine has recently returned after the birth of her daughter, Ava, just a few months ago. She is an active member at SIN; participating in Team Comps, Trivia Nights, Fitness Challenges, etc. She is absolutely crushing the current Fitness Challenge and has not shied away from any of the physical challenges. Do you remember your first workout?
I remember walking in to my first bootcamp class. I was nervous but I was greeted by Emily who was teaching the class. Emily was bubbly and welcoming. I could instantly feel my nerves melt away. Jamie was also there to greet me and go over the basics and help review movements during class so I wasn’t lost. I never had that type of support during a first class before! The other members of the class were welcoming and encouraging which really made a difference for me. I walked out feeling accomplished and wanting to try more classes.
How would you describe you lifestyle before SIN Fitness? How would you describe it now?
Before SIN Fitness I tried spinning classes, and three other bootcamp style gyms in the area. I found myself lacking the motivation and my consistency needed work. I wasn’t seeing results and my diet was lacking as well. After I tried SIN Fitness, I became addicted to the workouts, the trainers and the energy of other members. Everyone was so encouraging and I quickly realized why SIN was the right place for me versus all the other gyms I’ve tried. No other gym has members that will cheer you on and push you to challenge yourself. Not only do I get a great workout, but I also gained a sense of community. SIN feels like my fitness home!
If you could design your perfect workout what would it be?
My perfect workout would be a good combination of weights and cardio, minus the bike! 😉 I love any team style workout and any workout involving the sled!
What advice would you give to anyone thinking of starting at SIN Fitness?
Don’t hesitate to try out SIN fitness! If you are looking for challenging and fun workouts, supportive coaches, and a sense of belonging then SIN is for you! They also have several challenges and events throughout the year to push you further, and to have fun with other members and coaches.
