The Check-in for Charity for January and February will benefit the In a Heartbeat foundation. Member Kate Ainsworth and her husband, both teachers, are passionate about this cause. Years ago, Kate's husband had a student, Mike Papale, who survived cardiac arrest at age 17. The incident occurred at a rec center in Wallingford without an AED, inspiring Mike to create the In a Heartbeat foundation. The foundation aims to prevent death from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and sudden cardiac arrest by raising awareness, donating AEDs, and providing free ECG screenings for kids and teens. Based in Wallingford, Connecticut, they also offer CPR/AED training and life-saving resources to the community. Your Facebook check-ins at SIN Fitness will help support this incredible mission. For every check-in, SIN Fitness will donate 50¢ to In a Heartbeat. Together, we can help provide life-saving AEDs and screenings. Be sure to check in and support this cause.
