At SIN Fitness, we believe fitness should go beyond just reps and results — it should also build stronger communities. One of the ways we live out that belief is through our Check-In for Charity program, where every time a member checks into class, they’re making a difference. Thanks to your check-ins during the months of January and February, we were able to donate to In A Heartbeat, a non-profit organization based in Wallingford, CT. Their mission is to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and to provide automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to schools, athletic organizations, and public places. This powerful organization has saved lives through education, access, and action — and with your help, we got to be part of it. But this donation went even further. When In A Heartbeat expressed interest in giving back directly to the Berlin community, we saw an opportunity to make a real impact right here at home. We asked our coaching team for ideas, and Coach Jen quickly pointed out a need at the Berlin Little League fields. Not every field had an AED on-site — a potentially life-saving piece of equipment, especially during youth sports events. That simple observation sparked action. And on a beautiful Wednesday night at Petite Field, In A Heartbeat donated a brand-new AED to Berlin Little League, made possible by your SIN Fitness check-ins. The field was full of energy, families, and kids ready to play — and even more special, Coach Jen got to throw out the first pitch to her son, Hunter. It was a full-circle moment for all of us: a celebration of community, connection, and care. We love seeing our members crush their workouts, but what we love just as much is watching those check-ins turn into meaningful change. Whether it's helping local shelters, supporting health nonprofits, or putting life-saving equipment in the hands of youth sports organizations, your presence in the gym is helping us reach far beyond our four walls. This donation is more than just equipment — it’s peace of mind for parents, coaches, and families. It’s a statement that we care. And it’s a reminder that what we do at SIN Fitness is bigger than burpees and dumbbells — it’s about showing up for our neighbors. We also want to give a special shoutout to Kate Ainsworth, who nominated In A Heartbeat for our Check-In for Charity program. Without her suggestion, this moment wouldn’t have happened. And to Coach Jen — thank you for seeing a need and helping to fill it in a truly meaningful way. So keep checking in. Keep showing up. Keep making a difference. Because when we come together as a gym, we can help protect the people and places we love the most. And that’s what being part of SIN Fitness is all about.
