To celebrate this milestone, we want to highlight not only the strength and dedication we see inside the gym, but also the creativity and heart that our members bring to this community. One of our incredible members, Isabel Meagher, embodies that perfectly. Isabel is an absolute beast in the gym, she pushes herself day after day, always leading by example with her determination and grit. But beyond her physical strength, she also has a gift for words. She wrote an amazing poem that captures the spirit of what we do here at SIN Fitness, and we are so excited to share it with you. Here it is, in Isabel’s own words: Strength in Numbers 4:08 and the blare of another alarm wakes me from my slumber and complacency. I groan and remember that I chose this. Every single day there is a choice: Comfort or growth. We set our alarms, Rearrange our schedules, For the privilege to fulfill this promise we make to ourselves: “I will grow today.” And tomorrow. And two days from now. At 5 am, 6:45 am, 9:30 am, 4:30 pm, On the weekends, on holidays, I will grow. We enter those front doors with the weight already on our shoulders, Hundreds of pounds of heartbreak, loss, or stress That we’ve never been able to rack. Mounting responsibilities, broken relationships, past regrets Threaten to bend our backs and buckle our knees. But then, The sight of a stranger lacing up her shoes at 4:52, Determined and unyielding, Makes us firm up our own backs. As we walk into the room and almost falter under The weight of our own insecurities, A sleepy smile from new friend-- Our only connection, that we have sweat out our stress and sadness Together on some other early morning-- Puts us at ease, and we shed our doubts, Refocus on the task at hand: “I will grow today.” Our coach shuts the doors and The mantra changes: “WE will grow today.” What happens in that room is better than magic. It’s real. It’s grit and hard work. It’s a choice. It’s camaraderie. Friendships forged in sweat. A community. It’s an understanding that We all have our weaknesses, Though also our strengths, and We are stronger together. Our coaches call out for Just one rep more, One more minute, One more round. We curse, we fall, we lift each other back up. We lighten each other’s load, Even as we add more weight to it. The bar will always be at our backs. That is a fact of life, we know. And so we train to carry it with greater ease, and To carry more so that we may lighten someone else’s burden. We remind each other: You are strong. You’ve got this. You can try to lift the weight of the world on your own, But you’ll never have to because there is Strength in Numbers. A strength that motivates and inspires and Keeps us coming back for More.September was a special month for us at SIN Fitness; it marked our 10-Year Anniversary! 🎉 Over the past decade, we’ve built more than just a gym. We’ve built a community of hard work, friendship, and support that has carried us through countless workouts, challenges, and celebrations. Every member who walks through our doors has helped shape SIN into the family it is today, and we are beyond grateful.
