💪 Member of the Month: Curt Jensen 💪

Curt has been part of SIN for about 4.5 years, and his growth has been incredible to watch. He started with a lot of kickboxing and now truly does it all, Bootcamp, Power Hours, Yoga and more, with a big focus on getting stronger in Power Hours. And it shows. He’s lifting heavier than ever and continues to push himself every week.

Curt comes in focused and ready to work. He challenges himself, brings his journal and tracks, encourages others, and is the kind of workout buddy who makes everyone around him better.

Even better, this lifestyle is a family thing. He often trains alongside his wife Sarah, and sometimes their daughter joins for yoga, which says so much about the example they’re setting.

Curt, we love having you at SIN and are so proud of the work you continue to put in. Keep going 💪🏋🏻🔥💥💪 #memberofthemonth #sinfitfam #sinfitness #powerhour #kickfit #berlinct #itsallinberlin

How long have you been coming to SIN Fitness?   A few years.

Do you remember your first workout?

My first workout was a Kickfit class, and the people I took the class with were welcoming and had me laughing. I would recommend it as a great way to release stress.

How would you describe your lifestyle before SIN Fitness? How would you describe it now?

Before I joined SIN, I was more sedentary and ate a lot of convenience food.  Now, I do something active every day and found that eating food prepared at home leaves me feeling better.

If you could design your perfect workout what would it be?

Deadlifts, Back Squats, strict press, pull-ups, chest press, bent over row,

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of starting at SIN Fitness?

Come in and try every class, then commit to just showing up and try to keep up. My first bootcamp class, I needed modifications for every movement but knew that I would catch up to the other members.  Remember you are only competing against yourself and everyone who is taking a class with you is progressing to their own goals. Use a notebook and track your progress, and just try to do better than your last class. The last piece of advice would be once you are comfortable with your favorite classes find ways to challenge yourself by going heavier or trying classes that scare you.

What’s a win you’re most proud of since starting at SIN?

I'm most proud of the progress I've made. My dumbbell curls started at 15lbs and now I'm at 40lbs. Back squats started at 65lbs and now maxing at 205lbs. There are more benchmarks that I look at to see the progress I've made but the biggest is just feeling stronger than the week before.
