Check in for Charity: The Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association (Connecticut Chapter) supports individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, diseases that impact over 76,000 people in Connecticut and more than 55 million worldwide. Kristen Bell’s family was personally affected by Alzheimer’s, losing her grandmother in 2010 after a courageous battle. In her honor, Kristen is hosting a recycled sneaker fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to the Association. Alzheimer’s has also impacted other SIN families, including Coach Gabby, who recently lost her dad due to complications from the disease. The Connecticut Chapter provides support, advocacy, and advances research ....

Spring Clean Your Life, Not Just Your Space

Spring is in the air, and while most of us think about cleaning out closets and getting rid of old clutter, there’s another kind of spring cleaning that’s just as important, cleaning up your life, your habits, and even your mindset. It’s the perfect season to take stock of what’s serving you and what’s holding you back. Start with your body and mind Just like your home benefits from a little organization, your body and mind thrive when you give them attention. Active rest days and yoga aren’t “extra” or optional, they’re essential for recovery, focus, and long-term energy. A gentle yoga flow can release tension, improve ....

    Should You Be Doing Doubles?

At SIN, we love the motivation. We love the consistency. We love that so many of you want to be here more. But let’s talk about something important: doing two classes back-to-back. This isn’t about limiting you. It’s about helping you get the best results possible — safely, effectively, and long-term. And most of the time, doubling up on classes works against your progress, not for it. To be clear: we are not talking about pairing a class with yoga or mobility. Recovery-based sessions are different. We’re talking about taking two regular classes in a row — whether that’s strength, kickboxing, bootcamp, or any combination. ....

The Power of Strength: Confidence, Energy, and Longevity

When people think about fitness, they often focus on losing weight or “getting in shape.” But strength is about so much more than a number on the scale. Building muscle and improving functional strength affects every part of life, from your energy levels and confidence to your ability to move safely and prevent injuries. Strength training is for everyone. It’s not about being an athlete or lifting the heaviest weights, it’s about making your body more capable, resilient, and independent. Strong muscles help with everyday tasks like carrying groceries, climbing stairs, playing with your kids, or even standing at a desk without fatigue. And as we age, maintaining ....
