Rachel constantly goes out of her comfort zone, gaining strength and endurance as a result of her hard work.
Pregnancy did not hold her back, as she kept up with exercise the entire time. She came back post baby with even more determination and drive. Her commitment and dedication is captivating, and her energy alone makes the people around her want to work harder.
You can’t control who comes into your life but you can definitely control who stays in your life and Rachel will always be part of the SIN Fitness Family no matter where her life takes her.
Good luck in Pennsylvania, we already miss you! ❤️💪🏼🔥🏋🏻♂️🥊❤️
How long have you been coming to Strength in Numbers?
I joined SIN in January 2020. I gifted my sister-in-law, Serah with a Groupon for her birthday. Little did we know just how amazing that birthday gift would be!! We completed our Groupon but decided long before our trial period was over that we found our people.
Do you remember your first workout?
My first workout was a Kick-fit class with coach Pat. Kaylee worked out along side me to help coach me through the workout. Pat was so encouraging and personable, checking in with me throughout the whole workout. Kaylee took time to demonstrate the different combinations and assisted with form. I remember thinking, wow these coaches seem very knowledgeable and invested along with being so kind (not a complete combo you find at all gyms).
I also remember Serah & I’s second workout, walking into the old gym with Nicole greeting us both by name. I was shocked! We were newbies, strangers, yet each of the coaches took intentionality to get to know us. I was sold, I knew from that moment that SIN was more than just a gym. And I feel honored to be a part!
How would you describe you lifestyle before Strength in Numbers? How would you describe it now?
I’ve been a runner since junior high when I started track and later cross country in high school. I’ve always enjoyed exercising in which I mainly did cardio with running, swimming and cross training. I didn’t do much with weights and definitely not maxing out weight. It was always harder to motivate myself to lift.
Since being at SIN, I’ve loved the variety of classes, still getting my cardio in but also working on lifting weights. The coaches are so patient, demonstrating form, challenging us to improve each time and so encouraging along the way. I’ve lifted more at SIN than I ever have. And I was never able to do a pull-up!
If you could design your perfect workout what would it be?
My design workout would be a team AMRAP or a You go, I go, We go. I enjoy the camaraderie of working as a team, cheering each other on and crushing goals together! There is nothing like having the music blaring, working as a team and hearing bursts of shouting and clapping as you look over and know someone overcame a new move, beat their goal or pushed beyond what they thought was possible. Together has power!
What advice would you give to anyone thinking of starting at Strength in Numbers?
We live in a fast pace culture with busy lives. Our bodies are so important! We have to make time for ourselves. Set goals and make it a priority, a lifestyle. You will never regret taking care of You! We won’t have instant results, it takes time. Be kind to yourself, and remember, so much starts mentally. SIN is a place where you will be able to work on personal goals surrounded by people who really care. You have opportunity to get fit while building lasting friendships.
