CIFC: Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Anthony and his sons Joey and NicholasIn 2012, at the young age of 35, Anthony was diagnosed with a rare cancer, Peritoneal Mesothelioma. He successfully underwent surgery and chemotherapy in 2012.

After 5 years in remission, Anthony received the news in April of 2017 that the cancer had returned. Surgical removal was not an option due to the extent of the tumor growth and it was recommended that he look into one of the drug trials that is being researched for this devastating disease.

Anthony has been accepted into a drug trial at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. This particular drug regimen has shown promising results. Anthony, accompanied by his wife Christine, will frequently travel back and forth to Maryland to receive treatment.

Because it is a drug trial, the extensive tests, treatment and monitoring must all take place at NIH. We are optimistic this treatment will help Anthony. Chrissy is currently on leave of absence from work to assist Anthony in his treatment/travels and to care for their two young sons Joey (13) and Nicholas (10).

There will be put forth an enormous financial burden as they struggle with travel expenses and lodging that are not covered by the trial, medical premiums for the family and mounting household expenses.
