Scottie’s Christmas in July supports the Child Life Program at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, a donation-based program that helps children from newborn through age 18 cope with treatments, procedures, and hospital stays through play, education, and support. This cause is especially meaningful to SIN member Jana Menta. In 2016, Jana’s husband received chemotherapy treatments at Smilow Cancer Hospital. During his treatments, they regularly saw children courageously battling cancer and other illnesses, inspiring Jana to find a way to help. After her husband’s treatments were completed, Jana launched Christmas in July in 2017 to support the Child Life ....

Check in for Charity: The Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association (Connecticut Chapter) supports individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, diseases that impact over 76,000 people in Connecticut and more than 55 million worldwide. Kristen Bell’s family was personally affected by Alzheimer’s, losing her grandmother in 2010 after a courageous battle. In her honor, Kristen is hosting a recycled sneaker fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to the Association. Alzheimer’s has also impacted other SIN families, including Coach Gabby, who recently lost her dad due to complications from the disease.
