July 2020 Member of the Month Alexis Kim OrticelliMember of the month for July is Alexis Kim Orticelli!

Alexis has been with SIN for over 3 years. She is a very active SIN member participating in After Dark, Team Comps, Fitness Challenges, and Trivia Nights.

She is very coachable, always working to improve and doesn’t compromise form to be the fastest!

Alexis is welcoming and encouraging in classes. She always has a smile on her face and is ready to work hard even if life isn’t going her way, she makes the best of it!

Her hard work and dedication definitely shows. Thanks for always giving 100%!

How long have you been coming to Strength in Numbers?
I’ve been a member of SIN for 3 (almost 4) years I think!

Do you remember your first workout?
I don’t remember my first class but I do remember being very intimidated by a lot of the exercises. I remember being horrifed of the weighted barbell movements, as I had never done a thruster, clean and press, or heavy deadlift prior to joining SIN.

How would you describe you lifestyle before Strength in Numbers? How would you describe it now?
I would descibe my lifestyle before SIN as being active, my workouts consisted of free weights and cardio but I never lifted heavy and I had never worked out in a group setting prior to SIN.

Since joining SIN, I would say that I enjoy working out more with a group because it motivates and challenges me with workouts I would never do on my own.

How are you staying motivated at home during quarantine?
The team challenges during quarantine really helped me stay accountable and positive. There was so many days when I felt unmotivated and depressed but every single time I saw the lives from the coaches or posts from members it inspired me and kept me going!

If you could design your perfect workout what would it be?
My idea of a perfect workout would be with a partner or team workout. It always motivates me and breaks up the time.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of starting at Strength in Numbers?
I would say to anyone who is considering joining SIN that it is the best fitness community I’ve ever belonged to. No matter what your fitness level is or what your personal goals are, SIN will challenge you, encourage and motivate you. There is something for everyone, no matter what. You can feel the warmth and energy from all the members and coaches and that is what truly makes it so special and inspires all of us to be better. 💛
